Dr. Mak is Emeritus Professor and was Professor in the Department of Information Systems at San Francisco State University. Dr. Mak received the MS in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, MS in Statistics and Ph.D. in Business from Northwestern University. In 2003 Dr. Mak received the research professor of the year award in the College of Business at San Francisco State University. Her research interests include data mining, neural networks, genetic algorithms, computer art education, employee retention, hospitality customer and employee management, and mobile communication. Dr. Mak has published extensively in prestigious journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Information & Management, Information Processing & Management, Computers & Graphics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Quality Assurance in Hospitality & Tourism, International Journal of Mobile Communications, and others.
