Bio:

Dr. Teh joined San Francisco State University (SFSU) in 2006 and teaches courses in engineering materials, mechanics, composite materials, and capstone senior design projects. He received his mechanical engineering degrees from UC Berkeley (Ph.D), University of Michigan Ann Arbor (MSME), and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BSME). His prior work experiences spanned both the technical and commercial fields: as a strategy consultant at Booz & Co., pre-professional engineer at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, and an offshore engineer at SembCorp Ltd.  His primary research interests are in MEMS and sensors materials, specifically in the direct-write synthesis, characterization, and applications of metal oxides, conductive polymer, and low dimensional carbon nanostructures for energy generation and storage. Born and raised in Malaysia, and having lived in Singapore and Japan, Dr. Teh is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and English, and is able to converse in basic Bahasa Malaysia and Japanese.
