HED 655 -- Environmental Health
This course provides an overview of the environmental factors that impact human health, including the health consequences of humans’ alterations of the environment. Topics include physical, chemical, and biological hazards to health including air and water pollution; scientific and socio-political frameworks to analyze these topics; the scientific basis for environmental regulation and policy decisions; and contemporary global environmental health challenges.
HED 420 -- Epidemiology
This course provides an introduction to epidemiologic methods for studying disease patterns in human populations. Topics include biological, social, and environmental determinants of communicable and chronic diseases; the recognition, transmission, prevention, and control of health disorders; and methods for studying disease etiology.
