van Dam, M.A. 2009 “Lesbian identity disclosure assessment: The ALIDA instrument: A method to measure the degree lived disclosure for lesbian parents” presented in Copenhagen, Denmark at the International Conference for LGBT Human Rights.

 

van Dam, M.A. 2007. “The Geopolitical Perspective of Disclosure, Support and Burdens for American Lesbian Mothers”. This was a presentation at the International Conference for LGBT Human Rights in Montreal Quebec, Canada. This work presented my original research to peers as well as human rights advocates from 100 countries from around the world.

van Dam, M.A. 2008-2012 “Pediatric Physical, Emotional and Developmental Assessment” presented to graduate nursing students at SFSU. This class has been presented biannually.

 

van Dam, M.A .2005 “Disclosure for Lesbian Mothers” presented to a senior class in Human Sexuality (HMX 421) called Homophobia and Coming Out. The presentation included the concepts of sexism as a base for homophobia, unique coming out issues for lesbian parents and the fears, support and burdens with which lesbian mothers cope.

 

van Dam, M.A. 2004-2007. Physical Disabilities-Implications and Management (SPED 747). A series of five presentations was provided for the special education graduate students at SFSU. The presentations included: Genetic and Congenital Origins of Physical and Developmental Disabilities (part 1 and 2); Medical Equipment Utilized with Children in the Classroom; Acute Health Problems in the Classroom; Infection Control in the Classroom.
