Bio:

Parker is an ecologist focused on the ecology and evolution of vegetation dynamics.  Research has emphasized chaparral and tidal wetlands the last 10 years.  Research questions concern seed dispersal, seed predation, seed bank dynamics, seedling establishment, and the diffuse mutualisms associated with these life history stages (e.g., mycorrhizal fungi, scatter-hoarding rodents).  Parker is also an expert in the evolution and taxonomy of Arctostaphylos (Ericaceae), the most diverse woody plant genus in California.

Classes primarily taught are Plant Ecology, Community Ecology, Fire Ecology, and graduate seminars.

Bio:

Jason Henderson is Professor of Geography & Environment at San Francisco State University. His research focuses on the ‘politics of mobility’ and examines how culture, history, politics, and economics shape transportation. Jason’s research and teaching are motivated by the need for rapid and accelerated de-car (bonization) to limit global warming, and inspired by efforts to build compact, car free and cycling cities around the world. During Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 Jason will be on sabbatical researching and writing for a new book.
